Children

Nursery

We provide a loving, caring nursery for babies and pre-school-age children during church worship services. It is located just a few steps from the sanctuary and is staffed with paid staff and qualified volunteers who provide quality care in a safe, nurturing environment.

AWANA

More than 70 percent of all salvation decisions are made before the age of 15, and 50 percent of those decisions are made before age eight.  That is why reaching our world's young people is so important.

The Bible says that children are an heritage of the Lord (Psalm 127:3).  Our goal is to reach boys and girls with the gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him.  We do this by endeavoring, through the AWANA Program, to increase a young child's knowledge of God and to mold attitudes toward Him.

AWANA is an international, nondenominational, Bible centered youth organization providing weekday clubs and programs.  This program gets its name from the first letters of Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed (2 Tim 2:15).  It is designed for kindergarten through high schoolers.

The program is offered at the Oakton Baptist Church on Wednesday evenings at 6:15 PM, while school is in session.  Bus transportation is available.

Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School is one of the greatest opportunities we have to reach all people, especially children and preschoolers, during the summer months. It continues to be one of the most productive special events in terms of both finding prospects and leading them to the Lord. VBS runs for one week during the summer, generally during July.

Children's Junior Church

Oakton Baptist Church offers a Children's Bible Hour during the regular worship period. Children, in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades, can participate in our children's worship including spirit filled songs, prayers, and Bible lessons taught using video, crafts, and other media to hold children's attention while teaching Bible Truths. Junior church is being held during the 11am service.

Call the church if you need a ride to Sunday School and Junior Church (703-631-1799). See you there!
